During these unprecedented and challenging times, KDG has been grateful to give back to our communities that are struggling from the COVID-19 pandemic. Our amazing team, along with #KeeleyCares, have found various ways to give back and put smiles on the faces of those working on the front lines. Take a look at just a few of the opportunities we have been given to share our time, talent, and treasure!
#KeeleyCares COVID-19 Donations
#KeeleyCares has donated over $100K directly to organizations helping those in need navigate the current COVID-19 situation. These funds are being dispersed in each Keeley Companies city, as well as to every Business Group and Office in St. Louis with the goal of allowing Keeley'ns to choose organizations they are passionate about for these funds to support. As a result, #KeeleyCares is aiding over 40 organizations selected by our team members for COVID-19 relief. Just here in St. Louis, KDG and Keeley Companies teams have chosen to support Operation Food Search, St. Patrick Center, the Cincinnati Children's Hospital, SSM Health Foundation Urgent Response Fund, and so many more!
Urban League Food Drives
Those who are homeless and impoverished have been hit extremely hard and the need for food is greater than ever. #KeeleyCares is working with the Urban League in St. Louis to sponsor food distributions on Saturdays in May and June, welcoming all to volunteer. We welcome all to volunteer and our team is excited to participate in the upcoming food drives. Social distancing, PPE, and safe practices will be actively utilized throughout the day. Greeting Cards for BJC & St. Mary’s
We have worked with St. Mary’s Hospital and BJC Hospitals on sending messages and cards to give hope and inspiration to those health professionals and staff working on the front lines, as well as hospital patients that have limited or no visitor contact with loved ones. Both residents and team members at Clayton on the Park, The Euclid, and Chroma have gotten involved with these incredible efforts. We collected some amazing notes that are sure to put smiles on people’s faces!
Kindness Meals Program & Clayton Boxed Lunches
We wanted to find a way to help our healthcare workers and the local business community, so we partnered with Park Central Development and fellow sponsors to launch Kindness Meals. The program has raised over $100,000 to send over 9,000 meals from local restaurants to our medical workers to date. We have also donated and delivered meals from C.J. Muggs to front line workers at the Clayton police and fire departments.
American Red Cross Blood Drive
Our amazing team members generously donated at Keeley Companies’ blood drive for the American Red Cross on April 22nd. The Red Cross is currently in need of blood donations for all blood types and safety protocols are fully enforced. Please consider giving. Find a local blood drive in your area and sign up here.
Chalk the Walks
While enjoying fresh air and taking advantage of the beautiful spring weather, team members and residents created fun and positive designs with sidewalk chalk for others to see on their walks around Clayton during the COVID-19 pandemic. Sidewalks throughout downtown and Shaw Park were decorated with messages of thanks and encouragement for our healthcare workers, first responders, and others on the front line.
Spreading Cheer
Just as we've seen in cities across the world showing support from balconies and windows, the community at Chroma came together to spread cheer and keep the vibrant spirit alive from home. Residents celebrated from their balconies with different messages – appreciation for essential workers, sending love out into the world, gratitude for frontline healthcare professionals – all with music and props. Check out some of the messages and cheer here!
Delivering Smiles
Gathering for social events is a cherished part of the resident community at all of our properties, but unfortunately, we can’t get together right now. So, we have been delivering lunch, care packages, gift bags, and mimosas to our residents to show our appreciation and bring a little fun to them in their homes. We also do virtual happy hours and book clubs to get in some quality “face time.”
Thank you to our residents, team members, family, and friends who have participated in these efforts! These are unusual and difficult times, but we will get through this together.
